What is a wrist sphygmomanometer

1

The sphygmomanometer is used to measure the blood pressure of the human body. The principle is to inflate and deflate the cuff to reflect the pressure change of the blood vessel wall, thereby reflecting the blood pressure. At present, electronic sphygmomanometers mainly include arm-type sphygmomanometers and wrist-type sphygmomanometers. The so-called arm-type and wrist-type are just the difference in the position where the cuff is placed. To measure blood pressure, the wrist sphygmomanometer measures blood pressure by placing the cuff on the wrist, which is the arterial area. The arm sphygmomanometer is more accurate and can better reflect the changes in blood pressure, but if there is no vascular system disease, the radial artery blood pressure is not much different from the brachial artery blood pressure. If there is a vascular system disease, it may be the blood pressure of the radial artery, that is, the wrist sphygmomanometer cannot accurately reflect the blood pressure. However, the advantage of the arterial wrist sphygmomanometer is that it is relatively small and easy to carry. However, it can be used for some healthy people to observe blood pressure. If you have cardiovascular diseases, it is recommended to use an arm sphygmomanometer.
